Palacio da Pena Tickets
Description
Discover the enchanting chambers, serene courtyards, and vividly colored towers of this stunning fortress that resembles a scene from a fairy tale with your ticket to the Palacio da Pena and its magnificent gardens.
Reasons to Visit the Palacio da Pena
This ticket grants you access to the most emblematic castle of Portugal, where you can wander through its intricate mazes and vibrant rooms. Are you ready to experience the landmark that has become a symbol of Sintra?
Constructed in the 18th century under the direction of King Ferdinand II, the Palacio da Pena welcomes millions of admirers annually. To reach the palace, visitors traverse its gardens along winding paths embraced by trees and exotic vegetation imported from various parts of the world. Acknowledging his love for the arts and romanticism, Ferdinand II envisioned this storybook environment upon arriving in Sintra and falling in love with its picturesque views.
Upon arriving at the summit, the trail guides you to the palace's entrance. Here, you can immerse yourself in the interior space, equally as breathtaking as the exterior, wandering through courtyards and towers adorned with red, yellow, and blue tiles and stucco—a mesmerizing palette of colors.
The palace's blend of neo-Gothic, neo-Mudejar, and neo-Manueline styles earned the Pena Palace its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995, and it has stood as a National Monument since 1910. Furthermore, this vibrant palace has been included in the European Network of Royal Residences since 2013.
