Skaftafell Helicopter Tour (30 minutes)

Please arrive at Öræfi 785 at the chosen time to embark on an exhilarating 30-minute helicopter flight over Skaftafell. Your pilot will share valuable information about the journey, and soon you will be taking off into the sky!

Marvel at the stunning vistas of Skaftafell National Park, a region characterized by Iceland's awe-inspiring glaciers and volcanoes. Admire the grandeur of Öræfajökull, renowned as one of the country’s most significant craters, and soar past Mount Hvannadalshnjúkur, which proudly rises to 2,110 meters (6,922 feet)—Iceland's highest summit.

Once your thrilling helicopter experience concludes, you will return to the meeting location.

Lakagigar Helicopter Tour (75 minutes)

Choose a more extended excursion with a 75-minute helicopter flight over a section of Vatnajökull National Park, particularly the Laki or Lakagigar crater chain. This route offers a distinct view of Iceland's largest volcanic crater chain.

Fly westward above the vast ice cap of Skeiðarárjökull, one of the many outlet glaciers of Vatnajökull—the largest glacier in Europe! As you close in on Lakagigar, observe the impressive line of volcanic craters sprawling along the horizon, remnants of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in history.

On your way back, glide over the Súlutindar peaks, featuring formations shaped by ancient glaciers. Proceed southeast along the edges of Skeiðarárjökull, taking in a breathtaking panoramic view that will captivate your senses.

At the end of this remarkable 75-minute experience, you will return to the Skaftafell terminal, concluding your helicopter journey over Lakagigar.
