Hike on Vatnajökull Glacier
When you reserve your spot, you can choose between a 3-hour or a 5-hour trekking adventure:
3-Hour Trek
Your adventure begins in Skaftafell, where our knowledgeable guide will provide all the necessary gear to ensure a safe glacier hike. After receiving your helmet, harness, ice axe, and crampons, we will board a bus that transports us to the stunning Vatnajökull glacier.
Upon arrival, you’ll be captivated by the pristine beauty of this glacier, situated within the largest national park in Europe, widely recognized as one of the most picturesque locations. Its striking white landscapes have featured prominently in popular films and series, including James Bond, Tomb Raider, Batman, and Game of Thrones.
During our trek of approximately 60 to 90 minutes, you'll explore various glacier formations, including surface cracks, vertical wells, and ice tunnels (visible only in winter), creating an unforgettable experience immersed in Icelandic nature.
We will conclude the hike by returning to our starting location, reflecting on the extraordinary experience of traversing a glacier.
