The trip to Gozo and Comino begins at Sliema at 10:00 am and Bugibba at 10:40 am, both situated on the island of Malta.

During the hour-long journey, you will board a modern ferry equipped with cafeteria services, allowing you to relax while enjoying breathtaking views of the Maltese archipelago from the panoramic decks.

Your Mediterranean expedition will take you to the islands of Gozo and Comino. After disembarking, you are free to explore these islands at your own pace. Various ferry options are available for your return to Malta in the afternoon.

Activities on Gozo & Comino

The ferry will dock at Mgarr, located in the south of Gozo Island, the second largest island of the Maltese archipelago. Here, visitors can bask in the beauty of its idyllic beaches and discover numerous archaeological sites.

Although Comino is the smallest of the islands, its stunning Mediterranean scenery makes it a must-see. The main highlight is the renowned Blue Lagoon, where the ferry will stop. This small island provides excellent opportunities for a refreshing swim, and it's also perfect for leisurely hiking along its trails.

Operation Details

The ferry allows you to hop on and off as many times as you wish throughout the day.

Depending on your chosen departure times, your free time on each island will be as follows: 2 hours in Gozo followed by 2 hours in Comino; 2 hours in Comino followed by 2 hours in Gozo; 5 hours in Gozo; or 5 hours in Comino.

Schedule

Ferries depart from the following ports in Malta:

  • Sliema Harbour
  • Bugibba Pier

The ferry service between Comino and Gozo follows this schedule:

  • Sliema Port: departs at 10:00 am. Return to Sliema Harbour is scheduled for 5:05 pm or 6:10 pm (from April 18 to October 1); and at 5:40 pm (from October 2 to April 17).
  • Bugibba Port: departs at 10:40 am. Return is at 7:30 pm (from April 18 to October 1) or at 5:00 pm (from October 2 to April 17).

Important Information

Starting May 1, 2025, to disembark at the Blue Lagoon of Comino, a free entrance ticket must be booked through the Government's website (www.blcomino.com) for the afternoon hours. If this reservation is not made, access to the lagoon will not be possible. Should you choose to swim in the lagoon or remain on board, no ticket is necessary.

The ferry between Comino and Gozo has the following schedule:

  • Port of Sliema: departure at 10 am. The return to Sliema Harbour is scheduled at 5:05 pm or 6:10 pm (from April 18 to October 1); or at 5:40 pm (from October 2 to April 17). 
  • Port of Bugibba: departure at 10:40 am. Return scheduled at 7:30 pm (from April 18 to October 1) or at 5 pm (from October 2 to April 17).

Please be at the boarding points at least 15 minutes before departure.

Register to Visit Comino

In order to visit Comino, you'll need to register for free on the Malta Government websitehttps://blcomino.com/product/blue-lagoon/

It's important that you select the same date as your booking and the afternoon slot.

Please note that you can register up to a maximum of 4 people.

Important

  • After registration, you'll receive a QR code by email, which you'll need to present on the day of the activity before boarding the ferry from Malta. You won't be allowed to board without this government document, and it will not be possible to request a refund for tickets purchased through Civitatis if the QR code is not presented.
  • Before disembarking at Comino, government officials will scan the QR code, issue an identification wristband, and you'll then be able to continue your visit.
