Sorrento Private Walking Tour
Description
Sorrento is undoubtedly one of the treasures of the Gulf of Naples. This exclusive walking tour invites you to traverse its most emblematic areas accompanied by a dedicated guide. It's the ideal opportunity to immerse yourself in this coastal wonder!
Tour Overview
On the designated day, we will convene at Piazza della Vittoria, directly in front of Hotel Bellevue Syrene. This location is renowned for offering stunning panoramic views of the Gulf of Naples. From this vantage point, we will embark on our private walking tour of Sorrento, an excellent way to experience the charm of southern Italy at your own rhythm.
Our journey will take us first to Marina Grande, the historic fishing district that maintains its authentic character with vibrant boats and fishing nets draped out to dry. After absorbing the refreshing coastal air, we'll stroll along the city’s ancient walls, passing the Museum of Intarsia Woodwork and the residence of Cornelia Tasso, significant locations rich in Sorrento’s artistic and literary heritage.
Next, we will head to the Sedile Dominova, the last remaining historic meeting point for local nobility in the Campania region. Close by, we’ll admire the refined architecture of the Imperial Hotel Tramontano, before visiting two of the most tranquil spiritual sites in Sorrento: the Cloister of San Francesco and the Basilica of Sant'Antonino, which honors the city’s patron saint.
If you're keen on capturing beautiful images, the Villa Comunale offers a stunning seaside viewpoint. Following this, we'll pass by a restaurant that pays tribute to tenor Enrico Caruso before arriving at Piazza Torquato Tasso, the lively center of Sorrento.
To savor the local flavors, we will pause at Limonoro for a delightful limoncello tasting. With the delightful sweetness of lemon on our tongues, we can relish the dramatic vistas overlooking the Vallone dei Mulini.
Our final stops will include the Sorrento Cathedral and the Parsano Bastion, part of the historic viceregal fortifications.
After approximately 3 hours exploring, we will conclude our tour back at Piazza Tasso, next to the statue commemorating the poet for whom the square is named.
