Trekking Overview

For those eager to uncover a remarkable region of the Dominican Republic, we will meet you at the prearranged time at your selected hotel location. Subsequently, a minibus will transport us to the Los Tinajones trail. En route, we will make a brief stop to visit Mrs. Marcela, an expert in creating rodaos (a type of local biscuit), to gain insight into her renowned production process.

Upon reaching the commencement point of our river trekking adventure, we will equip ourselves and receive instructions on the basics of the trek. Following this, we will immerse ourselves in the lush forest, where you can admire the unique tinaja vase-shaped pools, along with the local flora that thrives in this area.

Around 11:30 am, we'll pause for a snack amidst nature, enjoying cheese, rodaos, and a refreshing beverage. After this delightful interlude, our journey continues as we navigate through caves and waterfalls. For the adventurous souls, there will be an option to leap from the rocks into the inviting waters below.

Your culinary experience will also include a visit to the local community of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, where a traditional meal comprising flavorful beans, rice, chicken, and more awaits.

Eventually, we will begin our return journey to the starting point, expected to conclude between 5.5 to 10 hours after our departure.
