Salto de Pirapora Day Trip + Botanical Printing Workshop
Description
Join us for an enriching day excursion to Salto de Pirapora, where you'll engage in a botanical printing workshop, a traditional African art form utilizing flowers and leaves. This experience promises to be delightful!
Details of the Day Trip
Your adventure will commence at the Barra Funda metro station at the specified meeting time. From this point, we'll embark on a scenic journey covering 180 kilometres (111 miles) from São Paulo to Salto de Pirapora.
Upon arrival, we'll kick off the day with a hearty breakfast, providing the energy needed to dive into the creative activities ahead. Afterward, we'll stroll through the village to gather flowers, fruits, and seeds. Be attentive to their colors, textures, and shapes as these elements are crucial for our printing process.
With our natural treasures in hand, we will begin the fabric printing process. Guided step by step, you'll learn to artfully position the flowers and leaves on the fabric, experimenting with various arrangements. As we create, we'll share insights into how this intricate technique has been preserved through generations by local African communities.
Following our creative session, a typical lunch awaits, featuring dishes inspired by Angolan cuisine. You'll have the chance to taste traditional meals such as courgette virado and chicken caipira. Prepare your palate for a culinary treat!
With renewed energy, we’ll head back to the botanical printing workshop to refine our artworks. You will learn how to add personal touches that make your creation truly unique, a fantastic opportunity to appreciate our collective efforts!
After the workshop, you'll enjoy some free time to wander the streets of Salto de Pirapora, explore local artisanal crafts, and soak in the charming atmosphere. We will then reconvene for a leisurely coffee before making our way back to São Paulo.
In conclusion, we will bid farewell at the original meeting point after a fulfilling 12.5-hour day trip.
