Tour Overview

After a convenient pickup from a designated location, our journey begins at Toompea, located in the upper section of Tallinn's historic area. This UNESCO World Heritage Site showcases the magnificent Toompea Castle, alongside the distinct gothic towers and the charming narrow lanes characteristic of the city center.

We will stroll down two main thoroughfares, whimsically known as Long Leg and Short Leg. Our exploration includes a visit to the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, an Orthodox church built during Estonia's time under the Russian Empire. As we move forward, we will discuss this historical chapter while making our way to the Parliament building, where we will gain insights into the functionality of the Estonian political system.

Transitioning to the lower part of Tallinn, our itinerary includes the Tallinn City Hall and the oldest pharmacy in Northern Europe. Curious about its year of establishment? We will also encounter the Pikk Hermann Tower, affectionately called ‘the big Hermann’. The Estonian national flag can be seen flying high from the top of this watchtower, raised each morning after the rendition of the Estonian national anthem.

The journey continues towards the Hellemann Tower, an ancient defensive wall stretching nearly 200 meters (656 ft), which connects to the Munkadetagune Tower. Here, we will have the opportunity to ascend to the highest level and walk along the defensive walls, affording one of the finest panoramic views of Tallinn.

Concluding our 3-hour private exploration of Tallinn's Old Town, we will make our way to either the Viru Gate or the Town Hall, marking the end of our insightful tour.
