Tour Overview

Beginning with a pickup from a predetermined location, our journey will kick off at Toompea, the elevated section of Tallinn's historic center. Designated as a World Heritage Site, this area boasts remarkable structures, including the stunning Toompea Castle, alongside gothic towers and winding lanes.

As we stroll through the two principal avenues known as Long Leg and Short Leg, we will visit the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Constructed while Estonia was part of the Russian Empire, this Orthodox church will provide a glimpse into that historical era as we approach the Parliament building. Here, we will uncover insights into the functioning of the Estonian political system.

Descending into the city's lower section, our route includes a visit to the Tallinn City Hall and the oldest pharmacy in Northern Europe. Curious about its opening date? We will also encounter the Pikk Hermann Tower, affectionately referred to as ‘the big Hermann’. The Estonian national flag is permanently displayed at the top, raised daily at dawn accompanied by the national anthem.

Next, we will make our way to the Hellemann Tower, part of the ancient fortification measuring nearly 200 meters (656 ft) that connects to the Munkadetagune Tower. Here, we can ascend to its summit and roam the defensive walls, enjoying some of the most breathtaking vistas of Tallinn.

Concluding our 3-hour private exploration of Tallinn's Old Town, we will visit either the Viru Gate or the Town Hall.
