Embark on a journey to Mount Etna, a renowned volcano in Europe. Experience the traces of its past eruptions and explore the charming city of Taormina in a single excursion!
Mount Etna & Taormina Excursion
Our adventure begins at 9:30 am, where we will convene in front of Porta Catania in Taormina. From this point, we will journey inland to the slopes of Etna, recognized as the largest active volcano in Europe, located approximately an hour away.
Our first stop will be the Sapienza Refuge, where we will gain insights into the latest volcanic activity at this famed 3000-meter high peak. Following this, we will embark on a walking excursion as we explore the most significant eruptions over the years, with a special focus on the impactful eruption of 1892.
Afterward, we will make our way back to Taormina, widely regarded as one of the island's most stunning towns. During our guided tour, we will stroll along Corso Umberto, the town's main street, and visit the Duomo of Taormina, located in a picturesque medieval square.
Diving deeper into the city’s historical narrative, we will also explore its notable Roman sites, including the Greco-Roman theater of Taormina. As you uncover the intriguing history of the town, you'll also be treated to breathtaking vistas of Mount Etna, a quintessential symbol of Sicily!
This day-long tour will conclude back at the original meeting point around 3:30 pm.

Important information
We'll meet at Porta Catania, located on Corso Umberti, 98039, Taormina. We recommend arriving at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the tour starts.
We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and sunscreen.
Etna Cable Car
If you'd like, on the day of the tour you can take the Etna cable car up to an altitude of 2500 meters from the Sapienza Refuge. This option is not included in the price and has an additional cost of 30 euros, which must be paid on the day of the tour.
