Dolphin & Whale Watching on a Glass-Bottom Catamaran
We will gather at the port of Tazacorte at the scheduled time. Upon arrival, we will board the Fancy II catamaran, equipped with glass viewing windows that enable us to explore the underwater wonders of the ocean. Let’s set sail!
Our journey takes us towards the northeastern shores of Isla Bonita, where you'll have the chance to discover the vibrant marine life through the boat's glass floor. Prepare to encounter numerous rays, sharks, colorful fish, black corals, and octopuses!
As we navigate the Atlantic waters, our focus will be on spotting dolphins and whales in their natural habitats. With a bit of luck, we might witness playful dolphins, a pod of pilot whales, and even the sight of whales blowing mist from their blowholes as they surface.
Before we conclude our adventure, we’ll take a moment to observe the solidified lava flows resulting from the recent eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano. This historical event, which lasted three months in 2021, will be discussed for its significant impact on the island.
Our catamaran voyage wraps up after a total duration of 2.5 hours as we return to the port of Tazacorte.

Please arrive at the local supplier's office, Fancy, in Puerto de Tazacorte, at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time.
Due to the volcanic eruption, the road connecting Fuencaliente with Tazacorte is currently closed. You will need to access the port of Tazacorte via the road connecting Santa Cruz with Tazacorte.
Whale Watching
Tazacorte is a prime spot for whale watching. However, whales are unpredictable. The number of whales spotted will depend on various factors, such as ocean currents, winds, and current weather conditions. However, we work with teams that know the area very well and are familiar with their usual habitats, so the chances of spotting whales are very high.
