Tour Details
At the designated time, we will meet at the ticket office located below the Marmore Falls. Prepare to delve into one of the world's oldest operational waterworks!
From this viewpoint, you will start to appreciate the grandeur of the main waterfall, which rises to an impressive height of more than 80 m (262 ft). The sound of the rushing water and the magnificence of the landscape will mesmerize you.
After learning about the history and mechanics of the falls, dating back to 271 BC, we will proceed toward the monument to Lord Byron, who immortalized the beauty of the waterfall in his poetry. This site was once a mandatory stop on the Grand Tour.
Next, we will embark on the ascent to the waterfalls, navigating through three paths that lead us to the upper viewpoint. Along the way, we will pause at several observation points, allowing you to capture stunning photographs of the various cascades.
During our journey, we will follow the Grand Tour Points, highlighted by panels that feature quotes and artwork from 19th-century travelers such as Goethe, Wordsworth, William Turner, and J. B. Camille Corot.
Upon reaching the highest vantage point, known as one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Italy, you will experience a panoramic sight that is sure to stay with you forever.
