Day Trip to Ugarteche River Basin

We will begin by collecting you from your accommodation in Tingo María before embarking on a brief 30-minute drive to the Hermilio Valdizán district.

The Ugarteche River flows through this eastern Peruvian area, set against a backdrop of rich landscapes enhanced by abundant vegetation and crystal-clear springs.

Upon arrival, our adventure will take us into the jungle for a 1-hour hike to delve into the Ugarteche River basin. Throughout our exploration, we will observe various species of plant and animal life, while also discovering information about tropical agriculture and the remarkable biodiversity characteristic of this segment of the Amazon rainforest.

As we trek through the lush surroundings, we will encounter stunning waterfalls and natural pools, including the magnificent Neptune Falls. We will pause at this spectacular location, allowing time for relaxation and a refreshing dip after our invigorating walk.

Having enjoyed the tranquility of this natural paradise, we will proceed back toward the jungle's boundary, where our transportation will be awaiting us. We will head back to Tingo María and return you to your hotel by 3 pm.
