Chinon Day Trip + Loire Valley Wineries Visit

Castles and wine are the highlights of this day trip to Chinon, situated in the picturesque Loire Valley. During this excursion, we will also visit two local wineries.

Day Trip Details

At the arranged time, pickup will take place in front of the Tours Tourist Office, after which we will proceed to a winery in the Loire Valley.

The first stop will provide insight into the Loire vineyards and the types of grapes cultivated in this region. Participants will learn about viticulture techniques that benefit from the special soil and climatic conditions influenced by the Loire River. After exploring the vineyards, the tour will continue with a visit to the winery facilities, concluding with a tasting of a wine from the Bourgueil Appellation of Origin.

Following the tasting, we will head to Chinon, recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in the Loire Valley. Upon arrival, a brief guided tour will showcase the exterior of the impressive Royal Fortress and the charm of the old town situated by the Vienne River.

Participants will have approximately 1 hour of free time in Chinon to explore and savor the delicious local cuisine at their own pace.

After lunch, we will reconvene and travel to another winery in the Loire Valley. This visit will similarly include a tour of the vineyards and facilities, culminating in a tasting of a wine from the Chinon A.O. This will serve as the perfect conclusion to the experience!

Ultimately, we will return to the meeting point in Tours, wrapping up this enriching 8-hour day trip.
