PADI Advanced Open Water Diving Course
Having completed the PADI Open Water Diver course, the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course represents your next challenge. You will have the opportunity to dive to depths of up to 100 feet (30 meters)! The theoretical component can be undertaken at the diving center or, for convenience, you can opt to complete it online from home.
This course consists of five dives, including two mandatory dives: the Deep Adventure Dive and the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive. Additionally, you will have the freedom to select three specialty dives from the following options:
- Wreck Diver.
- Night Diver.
- AWARE - Fish Identification.
- Boat Diver.
- Peak Performance Buoyancy.
Day 1: Deep Adventure Dive and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive
On the initial day of training, we will collect you from your accommodation in Trincomalee at 8:30 am before heading to the dive center. After equipping you with the necessary gear, we will embark on a speedboat to the designated diving location.
During this day, the focus will be on mastering the techniques for deep diving and underwater navigation. You will acquire skills to navigate and manage dives up to a maximum depth of 100 feet (30 meters).
Days 2 and 3: Specialties
The subsequent days will concentrate on the three specialty dives that you have selected.
Each of the specialties offers distinct insights and practical knowledge that will enhance your future diving experiences - you will choose those that align with your preferences and requirements!
Upon successful completion of all exercises, you will earn the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certificate.
Course Requirements
- The participant must be at least 12 years old.
- Completion of the PADI Open Water course is a prerequisite for obtaining this advanced certification.
Pick Up
The activity includes transportation from hotels within Trincomalee. If you are located elsewhere, you will need to arrange your own transportation to Ward No. 1, 9th Mile Post.
Important Information
It is essential to wait a minimum of 24 hours after your final dive before flying or ascending to high-altitude areas.

The local tour provider will contact you to confirm the exact pick-up time from your hotel in Trincomalee.
If you are staying in another area, we will meet up at 8:30 am at NILAVELI DIVING CENTRE, PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Resort, located at Ward No. 1, 9th Mile Post, Nilaveli 31010. You must arrive at least 15 minutes in advance.
