Minho River Boat Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the fishing wharf in Tui to board a traditional wooden boat and set sail down the Minho River. The river separates Spain from Portugal.
From the boat, we will see landscapes of Tui and the Santa Maria Cathedral, dating back to the 12th century.
We'll sail under the Tui International Bridge, known as "Friendship Bridge" in Portugal, which connects the two countries and spans the Minho River. On the Portuguese side is the town of Valença do Minho, home to a fortress visible from the boat, which has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times while retaining Gothic and Baroque architectural features.
As we drift along the river, we will learn about the flora and fauna in Minho. The riverbed's minerals support diverse ecosystems, leading to a variety of natural habitats for plants and animals on both sides of the river.
After 45 minutes, we will conclude the experience back at the dock.
