Activity Details
Our journey begins at the designated time in front of the Atlantic Campus of the University of Costa Rica. Here, we'll equip you with all necessary gear, including wetsuits, helmets, harnesses, and backpacks. Once prepared, you will drive for approximately 20 minutes to reach the enchanting Sitio Mata. Let’s get started!
Upon arrival, parking will be available at the start of our route. From there, we will set off on a 30-minute hike to the magnificent El Silencio Canyon. As we navigate this path, you will traverse sugar cane fields and be treated to breathtaking vistas of the Angostura reservoir along with the majestic Turrialba and Irazú volcanoes. Be sure to capture these moments!
The canyon experience encompasses five thrilling jumps standing between 8 and 20 meters (26 to 65 ft), each presenting its own set of challenges. In addition, you'll have the chance to glide down natural slides and refresh yourself in the crystal-clear pools that are perfect for a quick dip.
This location stands out as one of the best-preserved natural wonders in the area, where you may encounter sloths, morpho butterflies, and various reptile species.
After an exciting 6 hours full of exploration, we will return to our initial meeting point, concluding an unforgettable day.

Important information
15 minutes before the indicated time, we'll meet at the Pure Canyoning offices, located in front of the Atlantic Campus of the University of Costa Rica and the CATIE facilities in Turrialba.

Important Info
Please keep in mind that transport is not included, so you'll have to make your own way in your own vehicle from the Pure Canyoning offices to the El Silencio Canyon. However, parking is included.
