Experience a memorable day trip from Ushuaia as we navigate the picturesque Beagle Channel. This journey includes a visit to a unique local residence, home to the only fisherwoman in the region, culminating in a delightful seafood meal!

Activity Details

We'll commence the adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Ushuaia at the scheduled time and set off northwards towards the renowned Beagle Channel. En route, a break is planned at the Victoria Lagoon to enjoy a refreshing beverage, followed by a stop at Brown Bay, notable for its iconic flag trees, which sway due to the persistent southwesterly winds.

Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at Puerto Almanza, recognized as the main king crab fishing port within the Beagle Channel. From this point, we’ll embark on a roughly 1-kilometre walk to reach the enchanting residence of Diana, the only female captain in the Beagle Channel. Nestled within a rocky cove on the canal's edge, Diana will share her incredible story, explaining her choice to abandon her former life and embrace solitude in this remote area, reconnecting with the natural world. She will recount her experiences as an artisanal fisherwoman and discuss her solitary existence away from society.

Upon welcoming us into her home, our host will offer an insightful and personal look into local culinary traditions, detailing how some of the Beagle Channel's most cherished dishes are crafted using ingredients sourced from the sea.

After this enriching narrative, we’ll gather around the table to enjoy a 4-course meal, accompanied by a glass of wine and water, while engaging in delightful conversation.

As our day draws to a close, we will return to your hotel in Ushuaia, with an estimated arrival time of around 8 hours after departure.
