Martial Glacier Hike

Embark on an adventurous winter journey in Ushuaia by hiking to the Martial Glacier, a prominent glacier in Tierra del Fuego, and create lasting memories!

Activity Overview

At the designated meeting time, we will collect you from your accommodation and proceed to the Martial Glacier Ski Center, marking the start of our unique trekking experience. Prepare to delve into one of Ushuaia's essential glaciers!

We’ll initiate our journey aboard a chairlift, allowing us to ascend smoothly while appreciating stunning aerial vistas of the city, its expansive valleys, and the Beagle Channel. Arriving at the chairlift's summit, our trekking adventure will commence.

As we traverse the mountain paths, we'll navigate through the native Patagonian forest and gradually ascend to higher altitudes, where vegetation diminishes and landscapes become more expansive. Throughout our hike, our knowledgeable guide will share insights into the local geology and the glacial features of Tierra del Fuego, highlighting the importance of conserving these delicate environments.

Our trek will lead us toward the glacier's upper region, culminating at a scenic viewpoint that offers breathtaking vistas of the glacier, the surrounding mountains of Tierra del Fuego, Ushuaia, and the Beagle Channel. Here, we will take a moment to relish a homemade lunch along with a hot beverage amid the beauty of nature. Throughout our hike, we prioritize sustainability by using reusable containers and materials to minimize our environmental impact and reduce single-use plastics.

After enjoying our meal, we will make our way back down the mountain trails to the chairlift, then proceed to the base of Cerro Martial, where our transport will be ready to return you to your hotel in Ushuaia after approximately 5 hours.
