Valencia Fallas-Making Workshop
Description
Would you like to try your hand at crafting a falla? Join us for an engaging workshop in Valencia, where we will tour the museum dedicated to the artisans who create these stunning figures, intended to be set ablaze, followed by a delightful tasting of horchata with fartons.
Activity Overview
Your experience begins with a pickup from your selected location in Valencia as we proceed to the Museum of the Guild of Fallas Artists.
During our visit, you'll immerse yourself in the permanent exhibition, uncovering a variety of unique paper maché sculptures, preliminary sketches, and other historic artifacts that narrate the journey of Fallas art through the years.
Following the guided exploration of the museum, we will move to a genuine Valencian Fallas workshop, operational throughout the year. Here, you’ll receive an overview of the transformative stages involved in creating the grand figures that are ultimately set on fire during the Fallas festival. The creative process encompasses various steps, including design, sculpting, and embellishment.
Once acquainted with the theory, it will be your turn to get creative and make your own falla. An experienced Fallas artist will lead you through the successive phases of crafting, guiding you to complete your personal figure.
To conclude this enriching experience, we will enjoy delicious horchata and fartons within the workshop while engaging in conversation with the artist, who will share insights about the vibrant Fallas atmosphere in Valencia during this cherished festival.
Afterwards, we will return you to your original pickup location in Valencia, completing this 3.5-hour enriching experience.
