Activity Overview

The Malta Experience presents an audio-visual spectacle that spans over 7,000 years of Maltese history. This engaging film is screened in a theater situated within the historic Holy Infirmary of the Knights of St. John in Valletta.

Participants will immerse themselves in Malta's past, gaining insights into the culture, its inhabitants, and the origins of some of its most noteworthy landmarks, facilitated by an English audioguide.

From ancient temples and the rise of Christianity to the challenges faced during the Second World War, The Malta Experience encompasses these events and much more.

This visit provides an engaging and enlightening perspective on the various conflicts that have shaped this archipelago's history, along with the struggles and victories faced by its people.

Show Timings

The Malta Experience is conducted at the following intervals:

• Monday to Friday: 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, and 4 pm.
• Saturdays: 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, and 2 pm.
• Sundays: From October to June at 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, and 2 pm; from July to September at 11 am, 12 pm, and 1 pm.

Guided Tour of the Holy Infirmary

If you select the ticket option that includes the Holy Infirmary, you will first experience the The Malta Experience, followed by a guided tour in English of the Holy Infirmary.

During this 30-minute tour, we will explore various rooms of this 16th-century establishment and uncover many of its secrets. For instance, did you know it housed the largest ward in Europe, and that patients once dined with silverware? This site is a highlight for anyone visiting Valletta.

Key Information

Guided tours of the Holy Infirmary will not be available on the following dates: October 1 to 11 and 20 to 21, as well as November 2 to 6, 8 to 14, and 25 to 28.
