Hagar Qim Temples & Blue Grotto Tour
Half-day tour
Having picked you up from your hotel, we begin our excursion visiting the oldest limestone quarry in Malta, where you'll learn about the ancient art of the local master stonemasons. Then we'll head to the southern part of the island to visit the megalithic temples of Hagar Qim, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
During our tour of the archaeological site, you’ll discover the history of these religious monuments, with their construction continuing to provoke questions among expert investigators. Afterwards, the tour continues to the nearby coastal town of Wied iz-Zurrieq, where you'll board a boat to cruise over to the famous Blue Grotto (boat trip not included). Learn how this extraordinary natural monument was formed!
Following the cave tour, we'll begin the return journey to your hotel, arriving between 12:30 and 1:30 pm.
Full-day tour
If you want a more complete experience, you can opt for the full-day option upon booking. In the morning, this itinerary follows the same route as the half-day tour, visiting the megalithic temples of Hagar Qim and the Blue Grotto.
Lunch will be a delightful affair in a local village, featuring a starter, main course, dessert, and wine. After lunch, we'll drive through beautiful vineyard scenery to the charming fishing village of Marsaxlokk. You’ll have free time to stroll around the local market along the waterfront.
Our final stop will be at the Ghar Dalam prehistoric cave, an essential location for understanding the island's Neolithic past.
After the cave tour, we'll start the return journey to your hotel, arriving between 4:30 and 5:30 pm.
