Free Tour of Barrio Puerto and Cerro Concepción
We'll gather at Plaza Sotomayor at noon to kick off our exploration of Barrio Puerto and Cerro Concepción. Are you prepared to immerse yourself in 19th-century Valparaíso? Let’s begin!
Our knowledgeable guide will commence by sharing insights about the history of this port city while we take in the distinctive architecture of the area. As the oldest neighborhood in Valparaiso, Barrio Puerto continues to embody the customs and essence of two centuries past!
Next, the tour will lead us into Barrio Puerto, where we will visit Liberty, recognized as the oldest bar in the city, before heading to Echaurren Square and the renowned Puerto Market. Here, you'll uncover intriguing tales behind these iconic sites, learning about the market's celebrated reputation!
Afterward, we’ll ascend using the lift and take a leisurely walk through the elevated areas of the city: Cerro Concepción and Cerro Alegre. Within these artistic streets, you’ll encounter picturesque stairways, churches of various denominations, historic colonial structures, and a vibrant array of street art—truly an open-air gallery!
The complimentary tour will conclude back at Puerto Market, approximately three hours after we set out.

We'll meet at the indicated time at Sotomayor Square in Valparaíso. Please be at the meeting point at least 5 minutes in advance.
The guide will be wearing a green sweatshirt with the Ecomapu logo.
This tour will be cancelled if it rains or if there's a special event at Plaza Sotomayor.

Our guides work exclusively on the basis of the tips of the attendees. At the end of the tour, you'll be the one to set the price for the service. To give you an idea, it's usual to leave between 5EUR and 15EUR per person.
