At the designated meeting time, we will gather in Sotomayor Square, an ideal starting point for our tour of this vibrant coastal city. Ready to uncover Valparaíso's highlights? Let us embark on our journey!
In this central hub, we will step back in time to explore the pivotal events that shaped Valparaíso. Our first stop will be the remarkable Monument to the Heroes of Iquique, which honors the legacy of Arturo Prat. Additionally, the square, initially known as Customs Square, is home to the Chilean Navy Building and serves as a central location within the Port District.
Next, we will ascend via the Peral Elevator, leading us to the Yugoslavian Lookout and Baburizza Palace. Prepare to capture countless photos! We'll wander through the city's famous hills, meandering along streets brimming with history, vibrant colors, and striking street art.
One highlight of our excursion is the Gálvez Passage, where an array of graffiti murals awaits us. Our exploration will continue as we trek through Concepción Hill, taking in some of Valparaíso's most renowned viewpoints, including Gervasoni and Atkinson.
After descending on the Reina Victoria Elevator, we will proceed towards Aníbal Pinto Square, a crossroads of diverse cultural influences. From there, we’ll hop on a trolleybus to arrive at Prat Pier. If you’re eager to see Valparaíso from a fresh angle, it’s time to board a boat for an unforgettable bay ride!
During this 20 to 30-minute excursion, you will witness the city's beauty from a different vantage point, providing an excellent opportunity to appreciate Valparaíso’s colorful hills and bustling port atmosphere.
Ultimately, we will conclude our enriching 3-hour journey as we return to solid ground.
