8-Day Canadian Rockies Tour Package
Day 1: Vancouver - Kelowna
Our adventure begins as we depart from Vancouver and journey east through the Fraser Valley. The first stop will be a brief exploration of a west coast rainforest, culminating at the picturesque Bridal Veil Falls, named for the veil-like effect created by the cascading water. Continuing our trip, we will traverse the Coastal Mountains and take a break for lunch while enjoying the scenic views of Lightning Lake in Manning Park.
Next, we will venture to the semi-arid grasslands of Okanagan, where you'll have the opportunity to paddleboard on Skaha Lake in Penticton. To end the day, we'll savor indigenous cuisine at Kekuli Café in Westbank before arriving in Kelowna, located on the shores of Lake Okanagan, for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Kelowna - Banff
After breakfast, at 8 am, we'll set off toward Banff. This day promises awe-inspiring views as we cross three mountain ranges and four national parks. Our first destination will be Revelstoke, where you can experience lake kayaking. We’ll then continue into the Rocky Mountains, passing through the majestic Kicking Horse Pass upon entering Alberta and Banff National Park.
The day concludes in the delightful township of Banff, where we will spend the night.
Note: Between April/May & from mid-September onwards, we’ll navigate across the Vermillion Pass en route to Alberta and Banff National Park.
Day 3: Banff - Rampart Creek
Our journey begins at 8 am, where we will visit the stunning Moraine Lake and the iconic Lake Louise. Following these magnificent natural sites, we will venture onto the Icefields Parkway, witnessing jagged mountain ranges, glaciers, rivers, and lakes. Be on the lookout for local wildlife along the way! Our stops will include Crowfoot Glacier, Bow Lake, and Mistaya Canyon.
We will wrap up the day in Rampart Creek, where we'll spend the night in a rustic wilderness hostel. Evening activities could include taking a dip in the creek, unwinding in a wood-burning sauna, or enjoying a campfire under the stars.
Day 4: Rampart Creek - Jasper
We commence the day at 9 am, proceeding to Jasper National Park. Our first stop will be the Big Bend lookout, where stunning views of the North Saskatchewan River Valley await.
Next, we'll visit the Columbia Icefield and embark on a hike to admire the spectacular Athabasca Glacier, followed by a trip to Maligne Canyon. Here, you will have the chance to engage in a scenic hike across various bridges that showcase breathtaking views of the canyon.
The day will conclude in the charming town of Jasper, providing you with free time to explore the area.
Day 5: Jasper - Banff
We begin with a visit to Athabasca Falls, renowned as one of the most powerful and scenic waterfalls in the Rockies, before heading to the Goats and Glaciers viewpoint for some mountain goat spotting. Next, we'll journey toward Waterfowl Lakes, situated against the backdrop of Mount Chephren, named after the 4th Dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh.
The evening will be spent back in Banff enjoying a group dinner, after which you may experience the vibrant local nightlife or unwind in the Banff Upper Hot Springs.
Day 6: Banff
Following breakfast, this day is yours to explore the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Whether you choose to hike or take part in optional activities such as whitewater rafting, canoeing, or mountain biking, the options for adventure are plentiful.
Day 7: Banff - Kelowna
We will enjoy breakfast before departing the Rockies at 8:15 am, making stops at Takakkaw Falls (seasonal), Emerald Lake, and the Natural Bridge. Upon reaching the Okanagan Valley, there will be a chance for photos at the Kalamalka Lake viewpoint, known for its beautiful sandy beaches and crystalline waters.
We'll spend the night in Kelowna, with options to either experience the vibrant university nightlife or relax by the lake.
Note: Between April/May & from mid-September onwards, we will explore Kootenay National Park instead of visiting Takakkaw Falls, Emerald Lake, and the Natural Bridge.
Day 8: Kelowna - Vancouver
After breakfast, this final day of the tour will commence at 8 am, traveling through the Nicola Valley and into the Fraser Canyon. We will visit Tuckkwiowhum Village to enjoy a cultural tour with a traditional knowledge keeper.
Next, we will explore the town of Hope, visiting the Othello Tunnels and its historic bridges and train tunnels.
The tour concludes as we return to Vancouver.
