This delightful journey begins at the appointed hour at Cactus Café, located near the Olympic Cauldron, where we will embark on the sweetest adventure in town. Let's commence the Vancouver doughnut adventure!

Our first destination will be Hidden Gem Bakery, a spot where we’ll delve into the innovative third wave of coffee in Vancouver. Surrounded by the mouthwatering fragrance of brioche doughnuts, we'll explore the rich traditions of Canada’s West Coast. Did you know that Vancouver was at the forefront of merging artisanal coffee with gourmet baked goods across North America?

Next, we’ll make our way to JJ Bean, where each doughnut, whether filled with vanilla  or matcha, promises to be a melt-in-your-mouth experience. Just the aroma alone will leave you longing for a taste!

While we enjoy these treats, we will reflect on Vancouver’s industrial history, tracing back to its logging and railroad era and exploring how it has evolved into the vibrant city we know today.

Continuing, we will stroll through the historic district of Gastown, Vancouver's oldest area. Amidst Victorian street lamps and eye-catching murals, we’ll visit a café that honors the legacy of homemade fritters and traditional-style doughnuts.

During our exploration, we'll share the fascinating narrative of “Gassy” Jack Deighton, the vibrant saloon keeper who played a key role in establishing the neighborhood, illustrating how it transformed into a cultural and culinary hub.
