Day Trip Details
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your Varadero hotel in a charming classic car, setting the tone for a memorable day ahead.
First on the agenda is Coral Beach. Here, if desired, you can rent snorkeling gear to immerse yourself in the stunning waters teeming with vibrant marine life. Imagine floating amongst the schools of fish—an experience not to be missed!
Following Coral Beach, we will make our way to Matanzas, a town steeped in rich history and tales that highlight Cuba’s diverse beauty. We’ll meander through its historic centre, admiring colonial-style homes, the San Carlos Borromeo Cathedral, the renowned Sauto Theatre, and an array of museums that reflect the city’s distinctive charm.
Leaving Matanzas, we proceed to the splendid cenote of Saturn Cave, known for its clear, crystalline waters. Here, take an hour to swim and unwind in this striking environment filled with vibrant blue hues. Our next destination will be Boca de Camarioca, where pristine beaches await, and you’ll have the opportunity to learn the art of crafting a traditional Cuban mojito.
We will then journey past La Conchita’s natural beach and the man-made Plaza Oasis beach in Varadero, ultimately arriving at Santa Marta. In this lively locale, we will ride in a bike taxi to a local restaurant where a traditional lunch awaits, complemented by a refreshing Cuban cocktail.
Once refreshed, our guided exploration of Santa Marta will commence. We will stroll the historic centre and delve into the bustling village market, a perfect glimpse into the essence of rural Cuban life.
Our itinerary also includes a visit to Casa Naranja, just a brief five-minute journey from Santa Marta. Here, indulge in a rum tasting session featuring four varieties, along with coffee, chocolate, and tobacco. Additionally, we’ll explore El Resplandor, an agroecological farm where you can savor seasonal fruits while visiting a local farmer's home.
To conclude the trip, we will stop at Playa Las Américas, regarded as one of Varadero’s finest beaches, before returning to your hotel in a classic car after a fulfilling 9-hour adventure.
