Trip Overview
Are you eager to explore the scenic landscapes of Topes de Collantes in Cuba? To start the adventure, we'll collect you from your Varadero hotel at a predetermined hour, embarking on a scenic 5-hour road journey. Along the way, you will witness charming towns and vibrant valleys filled with lush greenery.
Upon arrival at our first destination, El Cubano Natural Park, we'll immerse ourselves in the island's verdant jungles. Here, we'll embark on a 3-hour hiking adventure, traversing bridges that span over rivers and cascading waterfalls.
Your hike will lead you to the park's grandest waterfall, the Salto de Javira (Javira Point). This breathtaking waterfall, standing at around 39.37 feet (12 meters), flows into a picturesque natural pool, ideal for . After enjoying this scenic spot, we will begin our return.
The next highlight will be a delightful buffet-style grilled lunch at the Balcón del Caribe restaurant. Following our meal, we will set off for the historic city of Trinidad. Upon arrival, we will partake in a guided exploration of the Cantero Palace, uncovering the tales of the third village established under the Spanish Crown in Cuba.
We will also have the chance to tour the grand mansion that hosts the Cantero Museum. Each room offers a glimpse into history, from Trinidad's founding to the struggles for independence, including insights into the slave trade that affected the area.
You will enjoy an hour of free time in Trinidad, allowing you to wander at leisure and perhaps sip a cocktail on a charming terrace. Our journey will then take us to Cienfuegos, where we'll pause at Jose Marti Central Park. Here, you will have 30 minutes to snap photos and admire the beauty of the historic district.
Concluding our extensive 17-hour adventure, we will return to the starting point to bid farewell.
