Next, we will explore the sacrificial pyre at the Sillón del Moro and the ancient cave paintings at Cueva de los Caballos.
Our route will then take us to Zahara de los Atunes, showcasing Atlanterra Beach along with the lighthouse of Punta Camarinal. We will also visit Caños de Meca beach and see the breathtaking cliffs near the Trafalgar Lighthouse.
This 4-hour journey will wrap up as we return to our original meeting point.
8-Hour Tour
Our group will come together at the designated time at the Tourist Office in Vejer de la Frontera, ready to embark on an exciting expedition.
Setting off, we will traverse historic backroads filled with scenic beauty. Highlights will include views of Cadiz's iconic windmills, along with the impressive Palomar de la Breña, which is known as the largest dovecote in the world. We'll then relax at the lovely Caños de Meca beach and visit the iconic Trafalgar Lighthouse, a significant landmark from the famous naval battle against Napoleon's fleet.
Next on our itinerary is the exploration of the ancient Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia, followed by an excursion to Bolonia Beach, celebrated for its lofty dunes. Here, you will enjoy a picnic lunch featuring traditional Spanish delicacies, including salmorejo, tomato picadillo with tuna, potato omelette, chicharrón de Cádiz, homemade chorizo, and your choice of water, beer, or soft drinks.
Rejuvenated, we will continue our 4x4 voyage along the coast, leading us to Tarifa, the closest European town to the African continent. We’ll wander through its historic city walls, explore Guzmán El Bueno Castle, and uncover the backstory of the Umayyad general after whom the town is named.
The trip will culminate at the Strait viewpoint, granting you stunning vistas of the Strait of Gibraltar alongside the African coastline.
