Self-Guided Day Trip to Burano, Murano & Torcello
The adventure begins at your chosen time from a central Venice pier, where you'll board a boat and set off across the stunning Venetian Lagoon to visit some of Venice's most historic islands. You'll have one hour of leisure at each island to walk and absorb the vibrant surroundings!
As we navigate the waters, enjoy breathtaking views of Venice’s historical areas, with picturesque vistas unfolding as we head towards our first destination.
Our first stop is Murano, renowned worldwide for its exquisite glassblowing craftsmanship. Here, you'll have the opportunity to witness a live demonstration in a glass studio, followed by an additional 30 minutes of free time to wander the island. The total duration spent in Murano will be approximately 1 hour.
Next, we proceed to Burano, famous for its colorful houses and charming canals. According to local folklore, the fishermen painted their homes in bright hues to identify them on foggy days. You can also explore delightful lace shops, known locally as merletto.
Afterward, we will continue our journey to Torcello, the Venetian Lagoon’s oldest island. Historically, it was more populated than Venice itself but now offers a serene atmosphere while preserving its historical essence. Take time to stroll and visit sites like Attila's Throne and the striking Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta.
Our day concludes as we return to Venice, finishing the tour at the pier you selected during booking.
