Rialto & Jewish Quarter Tour
Description
To discover the true and less commercial aspect of Venice, this journey through Rialto and the Jewish Quarter is essential. It offers a remarkable glimpse into the rich history of one of the world's most enchanting cities.
Tour Overview
At the appointed time, we will convene next to Santa Lucia Station and commence our engaging walking tour, exploring some of Venice's most stunning yet hidden gems.
Our adventure will begin as we cross the Ponte delle Guglie (Bridge of the Needles) to enter the historic Jewish quarter. Here, we will wander through the very streets that gave rise to the term 'ghetto'. Your guide will share intriguing stories about the area's history and the lives of the Jewish community throughout the ages.
Continuing along Strada Nova, the main pedestrian thoroughfare, we will arrive at Rialto, which has served as Venice's commercial and financial heart for centuries. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Rialto bridge and savor a local 'cicchetto' snack while immersing yourself in the lively ambiance.
After this delightful pause, we will continue our journey towards the renowned Piazza San Marco. Following a photo opportunity at this iconic location, we will board a motorboat for a 30-minute scenic ride across Venice.
The excursion will conclude approximately two hours later, returning us to our original meeting spot.
Morning Tour
For those opting for the morning excursion, the itinerary will follow a reverse route. We will begin in front of the Cornoldi Barracks (Caserma Cornoldi, located on Riva degli Schiavoni) and conclude at Santa Lucia train station.
