St. Mark's Basilica + Doge's Palace Tour & Tickets
Description
Discover two of the most iconic landmarks in Venice through the St. Mark's Basilica + Doge's Palace Tour. A blend of art, secret galleries, and grand halls awaits your exploration!
Tour Overview
At the designated time, you will gather at the chosen meeting point to access two of Venice's notable architectural treasures. Are you prepared for this impressive journey?
Your adventure begins at the renowned Doge's Palace, a structure that has long symbolized the political might of Venice. Serving as the official residence of the Doges for centuries, this palace embodies the strength of the Republic of Venice. As we navigate its interior, you'll gain insights into the influence wielded by these renowned leaders.
Explore the various chambers of this ancient abode, taking in the stunning golden staircase and artworks by celebrated masters like Titian, Tintoretto, and Bellini. You will also traverse the Bridge of Sighs, where a visit to the dungeons will surely send a shiver down your spine!
In the latter portion of the tour, we will proceed to the St. Mark's Basilica Museum. Together, we’ll journey back to 828 AD to uncover the fascinating origins of the Basilica while wandering through the museum's diverse rooms.
Throughout this experience, witness the exquisite mosaics adorning the temple and the four Horses of St. Mark. Did you know that these striking bronze sculptures were taken as spoils from Constantinople? We'll share their rich history!
As the experience wraps up, after nearly 2 hours and 30 minutes, we'll conclude our journey in St. Mark's Square. For those interested in an extensive exploration, additional tours are available.
