At the designated hour, we’ll gather in front of the Selina Hotel to commence our guided exploration of Villa de Leyva. Nestled in the Boyacá region, this town ranks among the most captivating locales in Colombia.

Our journey will begin as we stroll toward the main plaza, an emblematic area that showcases Our Lady of the Rosary Church, alongside a fountain and historic cobblestone paths, evoking a sense of timelessness. Notably, did you realize that the square in Villa de Leyva is considered one of the largest in South America? This distinction is part of what earned Villa de Leyva its status as a National Monument.

As we proceed, we'll delve into the town's rich history, tracing its origins back to prehistoric eras. Villa de Leyva houses three museums that display Cretaceous fossils and intricate dinosaur sculptures uncovered in the region. Remarkably, this area is home to the most complete pliosaur specimen discovered globally.

We'll take the opportunity to appreciate the distinctive colonial architecture while we wander through its charming streets adorned with vibrant balconies.
