Embark on a quest to uncover valuable artistic and historical gems as we gather at the entrance of the Iglesia Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, marking the starting point of our exploration of Viña del Mar.

Our first stop introduces the church's rich background, including the baptism of the Chilean saint Alberto Hurtado. From there, we will proceed to the stunning Palacio Vergara, where the exterior design, reminiscent of the Venetian Gothic style, captivates the eye. Inside, we’ll marvel at an impressive collection of Chilean artwork alongside exquisite furnishings that reflect Rococo, Louis XVI, and Empire styles.

Next, we will move on to Palacio Rioja, an eclectic mansion constructed in the early 20th century now serving as the Decorative Arts Museum of Viña del Mar. Here, we will explore its noteworthy rooms showcasing a permanent exhibition that features luxurious wall textiles, vintage Napoleonic furniture, and distinctive Empire-style artworks, among nearly 400 pieces that illustrate the decorative styles of Chilean aristocracy during the early 1900s.

The tour will conclude after three hours at a notable site: the moai from Easter Island, located at the entrance of the Museo de Arqueología e Historia Francisco Fonck. We’ll delve into the fascinating history related to this sculpture and the other artifacts within the museum’s permanent display.
