Hato Caves & Flamingo Sanctuary Day Trip

Embark on a day excursion to the Hato Caves and the flamingo sanctuary, where the rich heritage of Curaçao awaits you alongside its stunning beaches!

Tour Options

During the booking process, you can select from two trip alternatives. Both include hotel pick-up and drop-off, guidance by an expert, along with entrance fees to the various attractions detailed below.

Here is an overview of each option:

4-Hour Tour

As we travel along the Franklin D. Roosevelt Highway, we will reach the mysterious Hato Caves. Here, we will delve into this fascinating cave network, spending 1.5 hours exploring the underground realm that was once inhabited by the ancient Arawak Amerindian communities. Prepare to navigate through chambers adorned with natural stalactites and stalagmites.

Following this, we will proceed to the flamingo sanctuary located within the salt flats of Sint Michiel. A 15-minute photo opportunity will allow you to appreciate the grace of these birds as they glide across the waters, creating a spectacular visual with more than 100 flamingoes around us!

To conclude our journey, we’ll visit Kokomo beach, renowned for its enchanting turquoise waters and golden sands. You will enjoy 1.5 hours of leisure time here to swim, relax, and enjoy a refreshing beverage. Be sure to take a moment to relax in the hammocks that are partially submerged in the sea!

6-Hour Tour

This tour follows a similar itinerary as previously described, with one notable addition: after our exploration of the Hato Caves, we will make our way to Piskado beach (also known as Grandi beach). Here, you will have 45 minutes to swim alongside sea turtles that commonly visit these gentle waters, with snorkeling goggles provided for an enhanced viewing experience!

Next, we will head to the famed Grote Knip, often celebrated as the most stunning beach in the Caribbean. To ascertain if this claim holds true, you will have 2 hours of free time to enjoy its spectacular turquoise waters contrasting with the pristine white sand. Snorkeling equipment will be made available for you to explore the vibrant marine life surrounding Grote Knip.

Our last destination will be the flamingo sanctuary at the Sint Michiel salt pans, where we will enjoy a brief 15-minute visit to capture photos and appreciate these magnificent birds.

This excursion covers pickup from all hotels across the island, with the exception of Coral Estate and Kunuku Aqua Resort.
