Embark on a scenic boat tour through Wroc?aw, navigating the Oder River as we glide past charming islands, intricate bridges, and notable historical landmarks while delving into the city's rich past. An English audio guide will accompany you throughout the experience!
Explore the Oder River by Boat
We will commence our journey from the pier located on Bulwar Xawerego Dunikowskiego Street. This 45-minute river cruise provides a fresh perspective of Wroc?aw. With the audio guide in English at your disposal, you can absorb all the intricate details of your surroundings.
As we sail by, you’ll witness the allure of Wroc?aw’s Old Town and the beauty of approximately five islands, all whilst drifting under some of the city’s most recognizable bridges. The journey will also showcase Hala Targowa, a modernist market hall established in the early 20th century, characterized by its blend of utilitarian design and innovative architectural practices of its era.
Then, amidst your explorations, you’ll behold the University of Wroc?aw, a distinguished Baroque complex that stands as a testament to Silesia's former intellectual grandeur.
Continuing along the route, we will navigate beside S?odowa Island, a vibrant leisure area, and pass through the narrow Klara Passage, marking one of the most intriguing segments of our river voyage.
Our boat will arrive at Ostrów Tumski, recognized as the original center of Wroc?aw. Here, you’ll encounter the magnificent St. John the Baptist Cathedral, a grand Gothic structure that has undergone reconstruction due to the extensive damage it suffered during World War II.
As we proceed, we will traverse beneath the Grunwaldzki Bridge, a remarkable feat of steel engineering opened in 1910, while also observing houseboats, scenic riverfront promenades, and key buildings like the Wroc?aw University of Science and Technology.
Before our return to the departure point, the journey will take us past the Polinka area, home to a unique urban cable car serving the university, and Centennial Hall, a modernist architectural wonder acknowledged as a World Heritage Site.
