Description

Our adventure commences at Plaza Iglesia in Yela at the scheduled meeting time. From this point, we embark on a hiking journey through Quejigares de Barriopedro and Brihuega.

Nestled in the valley of the central segment of the Tajuña River, this protected forested area is home to a rich diversity of flora, including holm oaks, gall oaks, willows, and poplars. While admiring the stunning natural vistas characteristic of the Guadalajara province, we will share intriguing insights about the environment around us.

As we hike, you might spot various small mammals inhabiting the region, including genets, wildcats, and badgers, so stay alert! The trail, stretching approximately 13 kilometers, leads us to Civica, a village uniquely carved from the rock.

This deserted site features an array of caves, terraces, arches, and passages, providing an architectural marvel amidst Alcarria's beauty. Here, you will uncover the history of this modern construction by Don Aurelio and delve into the captivating narrative of Civica!

Upon concluding our exploration, we will retrace our steps back to Yela, finishing the tour after about 4 hours in total.
