Yerevan Free Walking Tour
Description
If you're planning a visit to Yerevan and are seeking a starting point, this experience is designed for you. Join us on a complimentary walking tour that unveils the rich history and prominent landmarks of the capital of Armenia.
Complimentary Walking Tour of Yerevan
Our journey commences at Republic Square at the scheduled meeting time. From this central location, we will embark on a walking adventure to discover the city's notable landmarks together.
The first highlight of our complimentary walking tour will be the Congress of Armenia followed by a visit to the Vernissage open-air market. Here, you'll encounter a variety of Armenian artisanal crafts, including bags, dolls, traditional rugs, and pottery items.
As part of our itinerary, we will take a moment to enjoy local culinary delights at an Armenian restaurant. You will have the chance to savor starters such as zaatar with cheese or muhammara with bread. Additionally, you can select a refreshing drink of beer, a yogurt beverage known as tan or opt for tea or coffee.
Following our meal, we will proceed to the Cultural Genocide Park, a poignant site dedicated to commemorating the loss of Armenian culture during the Mongol invasions in the 13th century.
Continuing on, we'll meander through Andrei Sakharov Square and explore Abovyan Street, recognized as the oldest thoroughfare in Yerevan. Our next stop will be the Opera House, where we will admire the sculptures representing notable Armenian figures such as Hovhannes Tumanya while delving into some captivating tales from local history.
Our walking tour will culminate at the iconic Cascade, an impressive structure featuring a cascading fountain with an intricate staircase. After a fulfilling 3.5 hours of exploration, we will conclude our tour next to this landmark and bid farewell.
