Day 1: Yogyakarta – Jombang – Mount Bromo

Your memorable tour of East Java's majestic volcanoes commences with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Yogyakarta, followed by a transfer to the railway station to board the train heading east. Enjoy the scenic landscapes of the Indonesian island during the approximately four-hour ride. Java is renowned for its diverse wildlife and lush plant life, making this a visual delight.

Upon arrival at Jombang train station, a bus will take you to your accommodation, situated just a short distance from Mount Bromo. After savoring a delicious meal to replenish your energy, you’ll have the remainder of the afternoon free to explore the local environment. The exceptional positioning of your hotel offers stunning views of Java’s famed volcanoes.

Day 2: Mount Bromo – Penanjakan – Ketapang

Your second day begins with an early start; gather in the hotel lobby at dawn to board the all-terrain Jeep heading to Penanjakan. The early wake-up call will prove worthwhile as you witness the sunrise over the Tengger caldera: the first rays illuminating the volcanic terrain around Mount Bromo in vibrant hues of purple, orange, and red will be a scene to remember.

Following this unforgettable moment, you will have the chance to explore Mount Bromo up close. Mount up on horseback for a tranquil ride around the volcano and its surrounding peaks. The equestrian journey culminates back at the base of Mount Penanjakan, where your Jeep awaits to return you to the hotel for a well-deserved breakfast. Afterward, you will leave Mount Bromo behind and journey towards Ketapang, located along Java's eastern coast.

Upon arrival in Ketapang, relish a delicious lunch featuring local Indonesian cuisine before you have free time to roam the city. You will spend the night here, preparing for an exciting final day on your tour.

Day 3: Ketapang – Ijen – Gilimanuk (Bali)

The third day also calls for an early rise, as your all-terrain Jeep will pick you up from the hotel in Ketapang for another volcanic adventure. A two-hour journey brings you to the Paltuding Visitor Centre, where you will begin a hike to the Ijen volcanic crater, a stunning sight in East Java. Ijen is famous for its striking turquoise lake and the mesmerizing blue flames that occasionally flicker from its lava, creating a natural spectacle!

While safety precautions prevent us from witnessing the blue lava directly, explanations about its fascinating appearance will be provided. Afterward, you will return to Paltuding, where the Jeep is ready to take you back to Ketapang for a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Refreshed and energized, you will head to the nearby port for a ferry ride to Gilimanuk, a quaint town on the northwest coast of the beautiful island of Bali. Expect to arrive in Bali around noon, though delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances.

Accommodation During the Tour

This 3-day tour includes 2 nights' lodging with breakfast. Below are the accommodations for your stay:

• Mount Bromo (first night): Lava View Lodge Hotel or equivalent. Starting in 2026, it will be Lereng Hotel Bromo, Terrace Bromo, or a similar establishment.
• Ketapang (second night): Ketapang Indah Hotel or a comparable hotel.

Important Details

Please be informed that to trek the Ijen volcano, a medical certificate confirming your good health is required. This certificate should be obtained in Indonesia, and we will assist you in acquiring it on the first day of the tour.
