Camel Ride & Night in the Desert

Details of the Activity

Day 1

Upon gathering in Zagora, our adventure kicks off with a camel trek across the desert. Throughout this excursion, you will not only appreciate the expansive desert landscapes that typify this North African region but also immerse yourself in the traditions and lifestyles of the nomadic Amazigh communities that have called this area home for centuries.

The camel excursion concludes at the haima camp, our lodging for the night. Here, you will enjoy a delightful mint tea while witnessing the mesmerizing transformation of the desert as the sunset casts vibrant orange and red shades across the sands.

As night falls, we'll recharge with a flavorsome traditional dinner at the camp. Above, the sky will be adorned with countless shimmering stars that illuminate the nearby dunes. Observing the crystal-clear sky, devoid of artificial lights, creates a memorable moment! Our evening will feature an engaging drumming session.

You will finally retreat to your haimas, embraced by the enchanting atmosphere of the desert night.

Day 2

Awakening to the stunning desert sunrise, you'll observe how the dunes and adjacent dry landscapes transition from vibrant red to shades of orange, ochre, and brown at dawn. It’s a truly breathtaking sight!

After savoring a hearty breakfast in our camp, we will mount our camels once more to commence our journey back to Zagora, with an expected arrival time between 8 am and 9 am.

Camping Information

Your overnight experience in the Zagora desert will take place at a camp. Please be aware that water at the camp is sold separately, costing between 1EUR and 2EUR for a 1.5-liter bottle.

During the booking process, you can select from two accommodation options:

• The standard camp accommodates a maximum of 5 individuals, with communal toilets and showers.
• The superior camp is suitable for up to 4 people, featuring private bathrooms.

In any case, each couple will have their own tent, ensuring privacy during your stay.

The standard and superior camps are distinct and separated.

Essential Information

Children aged 5-11 years must share a camel ride with their accompanying adult.
