Description

Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, boasts a remarkable architectural heritage. Explore the city's historical significance on this small group tour through its historic center.

City Tour of Zagreb

This guided exploration will commence at the scheduled time in Ban Jela?i? Square, the vibrant core of Zagreb. Discover the pivotal role this iconic public space played during the tumultuous events of the late 20th century that led to the fragmentation of Yugoslavia.

Next, we’ll proceed to Dolac Market, a lively hub showcasing local produce and daily interactions among residents. Right across from the market stands Zagreb Cathedral, which holds the title of the tallest structure in Croatia. During our visit, we’ll take note of an intriguing feature of one of its twin towers as we admire the impressive facade.

Continuing our journey, we’ll stroll along Tkal?i?eva Street, an ideal location to uncover stories linked to Zagreb’s Bloody Bridge. As we walk, we will reach the historic Stone Gate, marking the entry to Zagreb’s Old Town, where the Black Eagle, the city’s oldest pharmacy, is located.

Our next stop is Gornji Grad, home to the decorative shields of St. Mark's Church, a renowned landmark. Just nearby, the Lotrš?ak Tower awaits, famous for the Gri? cannon, which fires at noon daily, signaling the time.

To conclude our tour, we will delve into the tunnels constructed during World War II and unveil the significance behind the eerie graffiti adorning the walls. Before the tour wraps up, we will enjoy a ride on the Zagreb funicular, recognized as one of the shortest in the world.

We will return to Ban Jela?i? Square at the conclusion of our exploration, completing this engaging 2-hour tour.
