What are the most popular Alpine recipes? To discover them, you'll need to head to the Alpine Hotel Perren, where your apéritif tour of Zermatt begins. This town in the Canton of Valais in southern Switzerland, offers a wide variety of specialties that mix with the Italian tradition, whose border is a short distance away.
This walking tour of Zermatt is self-guided, allowing you to stroll at your own pace through the city. The tour consists of a total of 4 stops, and at each one, you'll have an apéritif with a drink. The dishes you'll taste can include exquisite delicacies like grilled vegetables, Swiss cheeses, local cured meats, and country meats.
Between one stop and another, you'll only need to walk approximately 10 to 20 minutes. The first tasting will take place at the Restaurant La Barrique in Alpine Hotel Perren, a typical Alpine brasserie specializing in Swiss and northern Italian recipes. After this initial bite, you'll continue your tour by walking toward the café-bar of Hotel Pollux, where you'll enjoy a traditional apéritif.
Your next stop will be at Marie's Deli Zermatt, the restaurant of the hotel Le Mirabeau. This establishment specializes in stews, salads, and cured meats, presenting a mouthwatering experience!
Finally, after a 3.5-hour tour, this culinary adventure will conclude at the Restaurant Bazaar in the Cervo Mountain Resort. This restaurant features a lounge-bar, popular among mountaineers, where cocktails and Asian-inspired apéritifs are particularly highlighted.
