Bern Day Trip
Description
Description
Embark on an enriching day trip to Bern, the capital of Switzerland, renowned for its stunning historic center, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Throughout the journey, we will uncover intriguing insights about the famed Emmental cheese.
Itinerary
Our adventure begins at 8:30 am at the Sihlquai bus station parking area in Zürich, as we traverse towards the charming Entlebuch Valley, a designated UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. On arrival, each participant will receive a bag to collect delightful Swiss goodies throughout the day.
Next, we will journey through the picturesque Emmental Valley en route to the Kambly Experience. Here, we will discover the process behind the creation of traditional Swiss biscuits, which we will have the pleasure of tasting. Following our sweet indulgence, we will proceed to the extraordinary city of Bern.
Upon our arrival in the capital, a walking tour will lead us through the historic center, where we will pass by notable landmarks including the majestic Berner Münster Cathedral, the Swiss Parliament, and the renowned Zytglogge, famed for its large astronomical clock.
You will have approximately one hour of leisure time to enjoy lunch and explore the shops in Bern. In the afternoon, our itinerary includes a visit to a traditional Bernese farmhouse, followed by a chance to observe local Swiss cows and tour an Emmental cheese dairy. An interactive experience known as 'King's Way' awaits, and we will conclude with a brief stop for photographs of the stunning Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau alpine mountains.
As our day comes to a close, we will make our way back to Zürich, arriving at the original meeting point by 7 pm.
