Wetlands Tour of Isabela Island

Our adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your accommodation on Isabela Island, initiating our expedition through the wetlands of the area. This journey is an excellent opportunity to experience the rich biodiversity of the Galapagos archipelago.

We will first travel to Puerto Villamil Beach, where we will transfer to a vehicle to head towards the marshes. Keep watch for the distinguished Galapagos sea turtles that inhabit this region during our ride. Upon reaching the marshlands, you will be greeted by a landscape of lagoons, swamps, and mangroves, a vital habitat for a variety of unique bird species!

In this area, we will have the opportunity to spot flamingos, along with other birds such as teros, curlews, and coots for the ornithology enthusiasts. While observing these diverse avian inhabitants, we will delve into the fascinating details of this ecosystem that can only be found here. Notably, we will explore the sole location in the Galapagos where all four varieties of mangrove forests can be seen up close.

Our journey will then take us to the viewpoint at Cerro Orchilla. Here, we will ascend some steps to revel in breathtaking vistas of the island. Our final destination will be the poignant Wall of Tears, offering insight into the island's solemn past.

Prior to concluding our day, we will enjoy a ham and cheese sandwich complemented by fresh fruit and juice.

After spending 4 hours immersed in the wonders of the Galapagos, we will return you to your hotel on Isabela Island.
