Our journey begins at 4 pm, as we gather you from your accommodation in Casma to set off towards the Chankillo archaeological site.

Designated as a World Heritage site since July 2021, Chankillo holds the distinction of being the most ancient astronomical complex on the American continent. During our visit, we will uncover its fascinating history, with origins traced back to between 257 and 201 BC by archaeologists.

At Chankillo, we will explore the remarkable Thirteen Towers, aiming to grasp the ancient inhabitants' understanding of the Cosmos. Unlike other known structures, such as Stonehenge, which is aligned with the summer solstice, Chankillo serves as an all-year-round observatory, marking key celestial events including solstices and equinoxes, as well as the rise and set of both sun and moon.

As we delve into the rich narrative of this historic observatory, you will witness a truly magical sunset over the Chankillo site. This will be a rare opportunity to enjoy the same vista admired by ancient civilizations.

After the enchanting sunset, we will make our way back to your hotel in Casma, with an anticipated arrival between 6 and 6:30 pm.
