Purmamarca Nighttime Hiking Experience

Our journey begins at 7 pm, departing from the Church of Purmamarca. We will embark on a hike that takes us through the scenic town nestled in the Jujuy province, where the splendor of the Andean sky awaits us.

As we gaze at the twinkling stars, we will delve into fascinating aspects of the local culture. The hike commences in front of the church, an opportunity to appreciate the rich cultural identity of the quebradeña, developed over more than 10,000 years. We will also stroll by the cemetery of Purmamarca, uncovering traditions associated with the celebrations of the dead that occur every November.

The route will lead us past various archaeological sites, enhancing our understanding of Purmamarca's historical narrative. With a starry sky overhead, we will look up and explore stories tied to Andean cosmovision.

Throughout our hike, we will engage in discussions about the traditional knowledge of the Purmamarca community, who have expertly guided travelers through the Chakana and surrounding hills.

The adventure concludes as we return to our starting point, where we will bid farewell at 9 pm.
