Osaka Samurai Experience

If you're planning a trip to Osaka and wish to delve into the heritage of Japan's famed warriors, consider joining a samurai experience. Here, you will explore Kendo, known as the “way of the sword,” which has its roots in the fighting methods of the bushi.

Activity Details

Upon arrival at the assigned meeting point, we will kick off the experience with a concise introduction to Kendo. The sensei will share insights into the origins of this martial art and clarify the significance of discipline (Reiho), the protective gear used in Kendo, and the bamboo sword. Are you prepared to challenge yourself?

This engaging activity will envelop you in the heritage and principles of the Bushido code, which emphasizes values such as discipline, integrity, and honor. Participants will practice within a traditional dojo under the supervision of a skilled instructor, ensuring a tailored experience for everyone, from novices to those with more experience.

Following the theoretical aspect, you'll transition to practical training. Authentic Kendo uniforms and protective gear will be provided. Your physical training will commence with fundamental footwork techniques and learning the proper striking methods using a bamboo sword (shinai).

The highlight of the experience is the controlled combat (shiai). This is your chance to apply the techniques you've acquired in a simulated fight scenario, creating a truly unforgettable moment!

At the end of the session, you can capture the memory with a photo session while donned in the samurai attire and equipment, ensuring you take home a lasting memento of your samurai adventure in Osaka. After two hours, we will conclude our time together at the dojo entrance. Sayonara!
