Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Durango, followed by a scenic two-hour drive towards Mexiquillo Natural Park.

Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed by a stunning lake encircled by characteristic coniferous forests and native pine trees. Our exploration will commence with a walk to the intriguing Stone Garden, where you can admire extensive formations of petrified lava rock, sculpted by the forces of wind erosion.

Next, prepare to be awed by the magnificent Mexiquillo waterfall, plunging a remarkable 65 feet (20 meters) into the La Ciudad River.

Afterwards, we will venture into the intriguing tunnels of an unfinished railway project that has beautifully integrated with the surrounding nature. These tunnels stand 20 feet (6 meters) tall and extend up to 328 feet (100 meters) in length, with some reaching nearly 1 mile.

Following this, we’ll visit a spectacular viewpoint that showcases the expansive greenery of Durango state’s green lung. Keep an eye out for the playful cliff chipmunks that inhabit the area!

As the day comes to a close, we’ll depart from the natural park and head back to your hotel in Durango, with an overall duration of approximately 7 hours.
