Experience one of the most stunning locations in the Patagonian Andes through this remarkable trek to the Cagliero Glacier, where breathtaking sceneries await you.

Cagliero Glacier Trek

At the scheduled time, our team will collect you from your accommodation in El Chaltén before we set off towards Los Huemules Reserve, situated approximately 10 miles (16 km) away.

Once we enter Los Glaciares National Park, we will embark on an unforgettable trek. The initial segment guides us through picturesque forests, leading to spectacular views of the Fitz Roy mountain, which towers over 11,000 feet. This segment ends at Laguna del Diablo (The Devil's Lagoon), where we’ll don our harnesses and helmets in preparation for ascending the via Ferrata.

After successfully navigating the steep slopes, you will feel a sense of achievement upon reaching the Vivac Cagliero base camp. Here, we will equip ourselves with crampons and embark on a two-hour hike across the majestic glacier.

Following the thrilling experience of walking on the ice, we will retrace our steps back to Los Huemules, giving you an opportunity to enjoy a meal (not included). Finally, we will transport you back to your hotel in El Chaltén, completing a journey that spans a total of 10 hours.

Pickup Info

This activity includes a pickup at the designated time from hotels located in central El Chaltén. For those staying in distant areas, our meeting point will be at 56 San Martín Avenue.

Not-Included Tickets

Please note that this activity does not cover the entry fee to the northern section of Los Glaciares National Park in El Chaltén. Instructions for purchasing these tickets will be included on your voucher.

This activity includes pick up at the indicated time from centrally located hotels in El Chaltén. If you are staying outside of this area, we'll pick you up at: Avenida San Martin, 56.

Admission Not Included

This activity does not include the entrance fee to the northern area of Los Glaciares National Park in El Chaltén.

These are the rates: 30000ARS per foreign person (50% discount if you buy a ticket for 2 days) and 10000ARS per argentinian person (50% discount if you buy a ticket for 2 days).

Equipment

You should bring the following mountaineering equipment: 30 liter backpack, waterproof trekking boots, two pairs of synthetic socks, trekking pants, Goretex or similar type pants (preferably with side zippers), fleece jacket, Goretex or similar anorak with hood. Warm hat, a pair of gloves, a hat and sunglasses, sunscreen, plastic bottle or light thermos, and camera.
