La Paz Walking Tour

Experience the uniqueness of Bolivia's capital on this distinctive walking tour of La Paz, where you'll uncover iconic sites, learn about indigenous customs, and take in breathtaking vistas!

Tour Overview

The journey commences at the arranged meeting point at The Steakhouse on Calle Murillo, centrally located in La Paz. From this spot, we will embark on an off-the-beaten-path route, exploring locations cherished by the locals of the city.

For a truly immersive adventure, we will utilize public transportation (bus, minibus, or cable car) to navigate between various attractions as the local residents do. Our initial destination will be the Cementerio General, a vast cemetery rich in history, serving as the final resting place for many significant figures.

Subsequently, we will ride the cable car to El Alto, allowing us to gaze upon La Paz from 2.5 miles (4,000 meters) in altitude, on the Altiplano plateau! We will also visit the witches' market, where you can experience a fortune-telling session using coca leaves with a local yatiri (shaman).

Continuing our adventure, we'll arrive at the El Alto viewpoint, providing an extraordinary backdrop of the La Paz valley, complemented by the striking view of Illimani Mountain framed against the horizon.

After concluding our 3-hour exploration, we will return to our starting point for a chance to savor a traditional drink at Sol y Luna Café.
