Buenos Aires 2-Day Trip

This 2-day journey to Buenos Aires presents you with the option of embarking on a direct ferry service via Buquebus or, should you prefer, taking a bus to Colonia del Sacramento before continuing by ferry to the vibrant capital of Argentina. In both instances, you'll experience the Buenos Aires sightseeing bus and enjoy a night's stay including breakfast.

Tour Options

When you make your booking, you can select one from the following two tour options.

Bus to Colonia + Ferry to Buenos Aires + Sightseeing Bus

Day 1:

Your day begins with an early arrival at the Tres Cruces bus terminal by 6:15 am. Here in Montevideo, you will board a bus heading to Colonia del Sacramento, a charming city in Uruguay that lies about 3 hours away.

By 9:30 am, you will reach the port of Colonia del Sacramento, where you will board the Buquebus ferry to Buenos Aires. After approximately one hour of travel, you will dock at the Puerto Madero terminal.

Upon your arrival in Argentina, a transfer will be waiting to take you to your hotel in Buenos Aires. You are free to explore the city for the remainder of the day.

Day 2:

The morning welcomes you with breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards, you may enjoy the Buenos Aires sightseeing bus at your convenience. The tour begins in Recoleta at 535 avenue Presidente Manuel Quintana.

This open-top bus provides an audio guide in English, making 22 designated stops across a 3 hour and 20-minute route. Daily departures run from 9 am to 8 pm (with the last bus at 5 pm), at intervals of every 15 minutes.

At approximately 4:30 pm, you will be collected from your hotel and transported to the Puerto Madero dock, arriving in time for your 6:45 pm ferry to Colonia del Sacramento. An hour later, you will arrive at the port of this Uruguayan city and board a bus back to Montevideo.

The expected arrival time at the bus station Terminal Tres Cruces in the Uruguayan capital is around 10 pm.

Direct Ferry to Buenos Aires + Sightseeing Bus

Day 1:

Be at the Buquebus Terminal at Montevideo Port by 9:30 am to catch your direct ferry to Buenos Aires.

The journey across the Río de la Plata takes approximately 2.5 hours, with the ferry arriving at the Puerto Madero dock at around 1:45 pm.

Disembarkation at Puerto Madero will see a vehicle ready to transport you to a hotel in Buenos Aires. After checking in, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy.

Day 2:

Your day starts with breakfast at the hotel, followed by the opportunity to embark on the Buenos Aires sightseeing bus tour as previously detailed.

Note that by 1:30 pm, you will be picked up from your hotel for transfer back to Puerto Madero, where the direct Buquebus ferry to Montevideo is scheduled to depart at 4 pm. You can expect to arrive at the port in the Uruguayan capital at about 6:30 pm.

Days of operation and schedules: This tour runs on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
